It was supposed to be a red wave, and it wasn’t? Was it Trump’s Fault? The Dobbs decision? Mitch McConnell? Kevin McCarthy? How about All of the Above – and more…

I am frankly sick and tired of the hair-on-fire election fraud conspiracies. For example, here in Washoe County the camera in the counting room went down around 11:30PM Wed Night and was fixed sometime Thur AM. NO ONE WAS IN THE OFFICE. But the same conspiracy mavens were there Thur AM with protest signs demanding God knows what. That once incidence has touched off conspiracy tweets all over the country and my home county features a cadre of hair-on-fire nutjobs convinced that the 7,000 vote margin for the democrats against Adam Laxalt was rigged.

Please note that the camera in the counting room was not required to be there. It was placed there as a courtesy to concerned citizens.

When you buy into a conspiracy, the very destructive by-product is that it is a cop-out for doing any honest analysis of the election. Donald Trump has been able to avoid any consequences for his actions that contributed to 2020 being converted into a 50-50 election instead of a landslide. It will also be a tactic to avoid taking a look at Donald Trump’s role in the 2022 election.

Let’s start with some obvious stuff:

SUPPORT YOUR NOMINEES. Seems simple, but it is far from simple.

Conservative Shirts 2 970×350

In Nevada, several Republicans stood up and opposed the Treasurer, Secretary of State and Attorney General Nominees. All three lost. The Governor, Lt Gov and Controller nominee had no such opposition – they all won. Read this sentence multiple times if needed.

In Nevada – the second-place finisher Joey Gilbert sued the eventual Governor Joe Lombardo over the primary result claiming election fraud. Mind you, Gilbert lost 40-29 in a 15-person field! To this day, he and his hair-on-fire crew believe they won the election and continue to bang that drum.

How many voters in Washoe County stayed home because of Joey Gilbert’s lawsuit? Gilbert’s lawsuit was funded by Robert Beadles who has been in the national media several times because of his behavior and unbelievable conspiracy theories. Beadles who is a multi-millionaire from Crypto also spent tens of thousands of dollars on a slew of candidates who lost. Many lost by gigantic margins.

FYI – Gilbert lost the lawsuit so bad he owes Joe Lombardo nearly 100,000 in legal fees. Imagine what Lombardo’s campaign could have done with that money for his campaign instead?

Beadles is claiming the November 22, June 22 and God knows whatever other elections are all rigged. He sends emails out to thousands of people. Think about the effect this has on people – it certainly discourages many from voting and/or doing constructive things to help.

VOTE EARLY DAMMIT!

It snowed in Reno on Election Day. It rained in buckets in Orange County. If you have a ballot, fill it out and turn it in as fast as you can. Why?

You could get in to an accident, get sick, the weather could be foul, all kinds of stuff could happen on election day. Get it over with. No one will ever know the effect of the weather on elections returns in those areas.

Think of all the money candidates spend on targeted cable, digital and mail – if you vote you could save candidates thousands of dollars as you will be removed from the list once your ballot is received.

Lastly, if you lay awake at night worrying about the horrible leftists stealing your vote and voting in your place – THE PERFECT WAY TO STOP IT, is vote first before they can steal your identity!

Republican candidates almost always find themselves in holes then spend the next two weeks pulling out of the hole created by Republicans refusing to vote early. IT is about time Republicans accepted the elections process and used them until we get majorities to UNDO THEM! What a novel concept.

STOP WHINING AND DO SOMETHING!

It is so much easier to believe a conspiracy then actually rolling up one’s sleeves and doing something.

What is doing something?

Knocking on doors and telling people about your candidates. This is the #1 most effective thing you can do

DONATE MONEY. Even $50 helps. Imagine if you and your friends wrote checks out to candidates – it would add up quick.

Make phone calls, not as effective as door-knocking – but is a great option for those unable to walk.

At the bare minimum, talking to friends, neighbors and family about who you are voting for and why.

What is NOT doing something?

Standing on a street corner waiving a sign

Sitting on Facebook or other Social Media venting your spleen

Complaining

I saw many good people in the 2022 election cycle caught up in completely counter productive activities and it did not help.

WHAT SPECIFICALLY AFFECTED 2022?

Decisions of Republican Leaders.

Republicans always get outspent, it is baked in the cake. This means Republicans have to make smart decisions about campaign spending. Many people have written ad naseum about Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy’s choices with regard to candidates they support.

Donald Trump made 2022 Election About Himself.

For the first time in anyone’s memory, a major contender for President 2 years hence made an announcement before the mid-term election. There is no doubt in the minds of most people that this brought tens of thousands of dormant democrats to the polls. In Nevada for example, democrats only had a lead of about 8000 ballots at the end of early voting. Their turnout was projected to be mid-40’s in Nevada. It will be just short of 50%. GOP Turnout will hit its’ projected 51% Given that dems have a 3 point edge in registration – it is amazing that Joe Lombardo held on to win the governorship.

The Dobbs Decision.

Democrats were demoralized before this occurred. It fired up the dem base. The statistics are undeniable.

Candidate Quality.

The GOP nominees in NC-13 and OH-09 were disasters. WA-03 is another. (All lost red districts)

Dr. Oz was so badly beaten up by Mitch McConnell, he could not recover. Blake Masters looked strange and like a little kid. It does not matter how good they were, this is the reality.

Between the GOP Establishment savaging people in the primary leaving them a bloody mess and some of the nimrods the GOP nominated that was a recipe to trim any red wave.

STOP LOOKING FOR A SAVIOR:

This is about the GOP, not a personality. Conservatives have a fatal flaw, since they have a concept of a higher power and generally lean towards Judeo-Christian values they can be taken advantage of by charlatans.

I’ve seen so many and various levels. Chuck DeVore, Tim Donnelly, the Tea Party etc. The result is one self-serving narcissist after another sucks people dry emotionally and discards them and the effect shrinks the base of the Republican Party.

For those of you that are people of faith, pray for wisdom and discernment. If a candidate seems too good to be true they are. RightonDaily has made a career out of lambasting frauds.

The answer to winning elections is only partially about the candidates and people. We have a savior, his name is Jesus Christ and he is not on your ballot.

CONCLUSIONS:

  1. Recruit better candidates. Many non-establishment candidates do win, have a look at those guys and figure out why
  2. Exercise discernment. This will save you from getting taken in by frauds
  3. Get over it. Vote early, get others to vote early. We need to start banking votes and not letting the dems take huge leads on us
  4. Deliver a message in terms anyone can easily understand. The focus on the kitchen table issues is a huge level of protection against outside events that throw elections (Dobbs / Trump)
  5. You, yes you need to get to the front door – phone calling is a good alternative if not physically able
  6. You, yes you need to stick a crowbar in your wallet and donate money to candidates
  7. Avoid the easy stuff like social media and sign waving that wastes time and changes no one’s mind

25 years and counting in this game and the themes are consistent. The GOP needs to adapt or it will die.

Nevada has 17 counties. Clark is the monster with about 65% (think Las Vegas) of the population. Another 20% is in Washoe (where Reno is and where I live).

The remaining 15 counties have about 300,000 people in them total.

Delegates to the State Convention are allotted by County and the Counties Control their delegations.

You’d think Clark County would control the State Party. It does not. Clark has been a mess for years apparently. The Chairman of the Nevada GOP is accused of wanting it that way and deliberately keeping Clark’s County Party in a shambles in order to keep himself in office as the State Party President.

Clark gets 187 delegates
Washoe gets 59 Delegates
Lyon gets 14 Delegates
Nye, Elko, Carson, Douglas get 12 Each
The other 10 counties get 5-8 a piece. (with most getting 5)

That’s it. No elected appointments. Just a caucus in January-February of an Even numbered year and the party people are selected from each county. In my case, there is no one from Sun Valley on the State Party so I am almost guaranteed of a slot on the County GOP. The State GOP delegates are elected by the counties, why wouldn’t the only guy from Sun Valley make it on to the state party too?

As to the math for officer elections:

Mike McDonald, the State Chair of the NVGOP has the 15 rural counties in his back pocket according to everyone I talk to. There will always be a few defectors – but it is safe to say that the 110ish delegates from the rural counties are Mike McDonald people.

The epicenter of the opposition to Mike McDonald is in Washoe County. (Where I live) This explains why when I was trying to introduce myself to people at the convention, I was getting frosty receptions from people in rural counties. Nice to see that geographical xenophobia is consistent from one state to the next.

Michael Kadenacy is the Chairman of the Washoe GOP and it is clear that he and Mike McDonald do not like each other very much.

Washoe County Republican Party Repudiates Purported Facts  and Actions of the NVGOP Resolution

Reno, NV – The Washoe County Republican Party (WCRP), Executive Committee voted on Tuesday to repudiate the purported facts and actions of the NVGOP Resolution. The resolution’s intent was to censure Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske. It was presented at the State Central Committee meeting on Saturday, April 10, 2021, in response to what the State Party deemed lack of action on the part of Secretary Cegavske, regarding alleged voter fraud.

In making the announcement WCRP Chairman Michael Kadenacy stated, “the Secretary of State was given no previous notice of the move to censure and strip her of party membership and therefore was not present at this meeting to tell her side of the story. That the State Party leadership made presentations regarding the purported evidence of voter fraud with no opportunity for a prepared rebuttal by the Secretary of State, is an affront to any semblance of Due Process.”

Barbara Cegavske is a former state legislator who termed out as an assembly woman and a senator. She currently is the only Republican to hold a state constitutional office. With a Democrat Governor and Democrat controlled legislature she is at their mercy to abide by laws passed and signed by them.

In closing his statement Chairman Kadenacy also said, “If our goal is to win elections in this next cycle, I fail to see the value of the State Party attacking the sole Republican Constitutional Officer.”

I am still learning all the players, but suffice to say the state party officer elections are going to be very interesting later this year. I’d look for the location and timing to be as inconvenient as possible if indeed Mr. McDonald thinks he is threatened.

If Clark County gets its’ act together and can coalesce its’ delegates – McDonald could be in serious trouble. Just as an aside, I met two members of the “Proud Boys” at the convention from Clark County, both claimed to have been recruited by Mr. McDonald to carry proxy votes. This could be a fascinating sidebar to what is going on in the big picture of the NVGOP.
